I dug out this image from the archives, I took it well over a year ago. I also posted it a while back on my flickr account
It was part of some test night shots I did with my mamiya 7II, I was due to do a paid job so had a quick go beforehand with the camera as hadn't taken any with it. I spent my new year's eve in Central London this year for a change, we usually go off to Amsterdam but this year we are skint so stayed home. When browsing through some stuff on my mac I found this again and it reminded me of how much I love living in London and what a top place it can be at times. There is a firework going off on the right side of this image inbetween the two tall buildings in the foreground, it was a 2 min exposure so it has ended up as just a red ball of light with some haze around it. So for that reason it made me think of the New Year and stuck it up on the site. I just left my desk before posting this and have come back to finish off... I've since forgotten the point I originally wanted to make about this image, it's not my usual sort of thing and I remember not really enjoying taking it at the time. Standing there for ages for each exposure freezing my bollocks off with a tripod made me realise I am not cut out for the whole night photo shennanegins. So anyway, I hope you all have a successful 2007 and good things happen, not shit things. Cheers. |
